Hey! I just found this forum and am a bit anxious as I just discovered my Quaker (Gomez) is all bloody on the side of his head. I *think* he's scratching himself badly - maybe a pin feather issue. He's about 27 years old and this just all of a sudden happened.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi, you can use corn starch to clot the blood quickly. Hopefully you can figure out what is bleeding on your Quaker and if it’s something (more than a pinfeather) that you need to worry about.

Is there anything sharp in his cage that he might have rubbed his head on?

I hope he’s ok.

Thank you both - it seems to be/have been a blood / pin feather that was irritating him and he kept scratching it with his foot. Seems to be OK now, I just need to hold him down and wash the dried blood off. How weird

Poor little guy. I’m glad he’s doing better. I love old Quakers!! Stick around for Quaker chat and info.
