I went to visit Elvis and the budgies today (every Thursday) but the budgies were out in the aviary (Opal finally got some flight feathers) so I spent most of my time with Elvis. I took some photos and a video before I finally killed my battery, and the budgies can be heard in the background of the video.
Elvis has been aggressive towards his fosterer, and he hissed at me while I was there. I told my friend to stop putting him in the aviary, he hates it and is probably one of the reasons (if not the reason) he is stressed and biting. He hissed, and threatened to bite me, but since I know cockatiel body language, I didn't get closer until he let me. He slowly came over to my hand, climbed up my arm, and immediately started singing in my ear. He asked for head scritches, and he hid under my ponytail, and played with my ponytail and earrings and necklace, and glasses, and preened my eyebrows, and tried to peck at my eyes.
When I put him on the floor, he runs after me. Elvis would rather walk around than fly, just the way he is. Elvis is clipped, but I've seen him fly while clipped, he is a master flyer with and without clipped wings (which is why he was aloud in the aviary).
Elvis is molting, he is in a strange environment, he is no longer houses with the budgies, and ha had been put into an aviary which he hated (He no long goes in the aviary as stated above) and all that lead to stress, which then lead to biting.
Here are the pictures of Elvis at his foster home.
