Bella started making a weird new noise the other day and I managed to get a recording of it.

She only made this noise the one day and it has not been repeated.

It reminds me of pulling wide 2" tape from a role of packing tape.

I can't guess what she is imitating.

Totally agree Wes! Impossible to know what those brilliant Greys can do.

Greys are so proficient at imitating sounds! You can never tell what they will choose to copy. It will be interesting if Bella makes that sound when you next get a UPS package! Maybe at Christmas everyone will think they have more presents than they actually do, LOL.

It's likely a hinge that has gone stiff or something and Bella has picked up on it. Maybe it's like a parrot game of eye spy or something, guess the new sound.

I have long believed that Parrots Love to mess with our Heads! And, Grey's seem to excellent in the sport!

At some point, 'when you least expect it,' that sound will pop-out of your daily life.

laundry machine dial? do you have a timer or any spring-type dials that makes that noise when you twist it? tape is a good guess too...It sounds very familiar though-- i feel like we had a washer that made that sound at some point....when you set it.

Good idea but our washer/dryer knobs are silent(except the annoying buzz at the end of the dryer run).

I still haven’t heard her repeat the noise.

Ours used to mess with us..did running water sounds so well..and (obviously) the microwave, but also doors closing, floors creaking, drinks puring, etc lol. Seriously me off numerous time when home alone.

KIND of sounds a but like one of those big metal zippers that they used to put on those plastic closets/garment bags OR LIKE THE CRANKS ON THOSE GUMBALL MACHINES!...but it's probably tape lol
