I was talking with Grok about birds vs rocker launches.
Mostly about how launches affect the birds but I also asked if there were any issues the other way around.
If I heard about this at the time I don’t remember it but thought you guys might like a bit of humorous bird history.

Oh my gosh. Those dang Flickers! I’m a designer, & years ago we used to specify EIFS stucco (rigid foam insulation with a stucco layer on top) on houses that we designed. The Flickers would peck holes into the foam, and it created huge problems. Smaller birds would then get into the holes and nest. Flickers are protected birds here, and are very difficult to deter. Nothing seems to scare them. They also like to hammer incessantly on my metal chimney at 6am in the spring. 😵‍💫

LMBO! Too funny! I can imagine how annoying they can be!

Woodpeckers are some of my favorite local birds and here in the woods of Maine we have Downy Hairy, Red-Bellied, Flickers, and the mighty Pileated, and they all frequent our suet feeders year round, even bringing their kids after they fledge. Our peckers are quite fearless, too. For the past six months we've been building an addition onto our house only 20 feet from the feeders and all the workmen, equipment and noise didn't stop the parade of hungry woodpeckers one bit.

The ratchety noise of there call is one of the ever present sounds in the mornings in Oregon.
I love waking the property in the early morning watching and listening to them.
Ever since watching some documentary about them the way they always land on the trunk of trees and not there branches stands out.
I don’t know what species we have there but I think it’s more than just one and they are protected.

Even when they start hammering on the eves of the house above your bedroom at some ungodly hour of the morning. It takes some effort to remember they are protected and you really LIKE birds
