Nasal irritation?

Hello All,

We've had Sirius for about a month(about 4 months old now) now and have been noticing that his nostrils sometimes look red and irritated. I pointed this out when he had his first appointment with the Vet a week after bringing him home and at least at that time she didn't see any issues. It still seems to be going on now and with the cold weather, the air is super dry. He has a small crack or chapping where the beak ties into his nose(see picture). I haven't seen him rub it and its not actively bleeding. Not really seeing any excessive sneezing, no more than our budgies at least and generally active and eating. Also terrorizing my pens.

We have air purifiers in almost every room and I also have a DIY evaporation humidifier going around the clock. The humidity in my snake enclosures are staying around 20-30 so it will be roughly the same around the house. Could this be a cause or is there something different I can be doing with his care?

Thanks!

Cockatiels are from a pretty dry natural environment so I don't see how low humidity would be a problem for a cockatiel. Maybe a dab of plain Vaseline on the area would help but don't gob it on and clog his nostrils.

Can't you just take a photo on your phone and post it? I can't open your links.

Sorry I forgot it does that! It's does fine on my phone but does that when I use my computer. No idea why.
