Natural Instincts- How do they Know?

I'd say the worst one to get bitten by in my house would be the CAG.

The rest only pinch, even when they're upset. The CAG has a beak like a scissors, and when he gets mad he does not control his bite pressure very well.

Buddy and Venus haven't had a raptor sighting but Buddy speaks crackling or grackle (the black birds running around parking lots looking for anything to eat) extremely well. Those come in our backyard all the time and he starts chattering away. When I come home, walk in the door, I get a custom "Hello" that sounds like those black birds from Buddy. He so loud recently a man at an RV asked Husband if we had parrots and what kind. The RV was over 300 ft away from our I from door, lol. He is a Parront too.

Our home has RV lots across the way and I always open the blinds in the morning in the kitchen. It's my front look out window to not much going on. If I take either bird with me to get coffee, we are next to that window and both are surveying out the window hard. Venus has started shivering because people may be out be an RV, or a neighbor is out walking, kids getting off the school bus, etc. we have the black birds, and doves that show up so both see them out back. There is a flock of Quakers around but they haven't visited our yard yet, and we have some resident Hawks but they haven't been close to our backyard. I see them on the power lines out front while they are scouting. I clean the cages out front and I'll take Buddy outside with me in his travel cage, place a towel on a car and put the cage on the hood. So far no hawk sightings but we'll see.

I've heard that all birds of prey have a similar silhouette when seen from the bottom, which is why other birds can recognize them. That makes about as much sense as anything else I've heard, and also would support the anecdote that parrots don't seem to know that turkey vultures are not also dangerous to them per se.

Most of the times I don't see what spooks them. First I was upset....I would run to get my glasses, look as good as I can, but nope....nothing. I don't even try anymore. I know they spotted something, and THAT something is something I can't see.... :).
Usually one Zon will spot "the danger" and starts making that grrrrrr.....grrrrr.....grrrrr....sound. The other Zon starts making the same sound and runs inside the cage, peeking towards the window..... :).
That is THE ONLY time they act as a team, all other times they hate each other....... :).
