Natural perches

So we have at least three trees to cut down in our yard this summer, one is a poplar, and the other two are elm I believe, I have used branches from trees like this when I was raising budgies and coketiels, are these ok to use for my green cheeks, from everything I've read it should be ok.
Thoughts are appreciated

Both are safe woods, though the poplar is softer that the elm.....
