African Grey Timneh
Timneh has settled in toneating zupreem fruit blend. Now waiting those test results I don’t think we are going to open her next bad. Kind of getting a little anxiety as to what to do. I have a bag of Harrison’s high potency but she is really not interested in them. We’ve tried lafeber awhile back thinking about trying their pellets again. Timneh is so picky so I was excited when she seemed to really like zupreem. Thanks for any advice. Hope those test results come back soon.

I’m a huge fan of goldenfeasts goldn’oble I blend, and TOPS. Two of the best in the industry.

Thanks Chris Which size tops do you feed? I was thinking about trying their smaller size. Timneh isn’t a big fan of large pellets.

I just have that feeling that Timneh is going to turn her nose up at anything else. Right now I have kaytee exact that looks a lot like zupreem. Not the best pellet but if she took tonit right away I think it would be worth it while we work on switching. Roudybush which looks good but shaped like lafebers pellets and she isn’t a huge fan of lafeber pellets. Third in my cart to order is Tops. The reviews say they break apart which I think Timneh will actually be into a pellet that isn’t too hard. Golden nobles will probably be next to try, but I might go to pet smart to see what I can buy local. Struck out at my locally owned pet store and Petco. Just got the Harrison’s which is a great pellet but not for Timneh. This is our third attempt at getting her to eat Harrison’s. I want to give lafeber pellets another try but all I ever see is that 5lb bucket. I’m already going to have a ton of pellets on hand. Planning on freezing them to give us more time. Thanks for listening to my struggles hopefully I can find a replacement soon. Or even better hopefully zupreem gets those test results back and posted.

Parker gets the regular size pellets for his size. You can try smaller sizes and see if that gets in to eat. Admittedly Parker doesn’t like much in the way of pellets but the evidence here shows that he will eat the tops a bit more than anything else I’ve given him

You can mix the pellets with something like red palm oil or coconut oil. That should help peak his interest

My usual couple of cents...

Harrison's Bird Foods
I feed Harrison's, supplemented by fresh healthy treats. My first, and later, my current avian vet recommended it. My bird loves the pellets now, but to get him converted, my avian vet suggested putting pellets out all day, and putting seeds (his old diet) out for two 15-minute periods a day. That would sustain him but leave him hungry enough to try new stuff. I presume the same technique could be used to get him to eat other healthy stuff, like fruits and vegetables! My guy was eating pellets in a couple of days, and now I can feed a good variety of other stuff, knowing he has the pellets as a basic. Pellets are out all day... fresh treats a few times a day. I also like Harrison's via mail because I never have to worry about out-of-date products. :)
Another couple of ideas...
My ol' man is an athlete and health nut. He actually EATS all the good stuff, so it's always around. I find that tossing various stuff into the food bowls at random is good... the variationd and differences sedem to stimulate curiosity and attention.
The other idea... if you can stand it (lol) EAT the stuff in front of the birds, yes. That encourages them. I have also found that if my ol' man eats stuff in front of the bird, the bird WANTS it for himself. Kinda a rivalry thing!

I feed a mix of Harrison’s Adult Lifetime (Fine or Super Fine for my birds, since they’re small), Roudybush Maintenance (Crumbles or Nibbles), and TOPs Small Pellets. In the past I’ve also fed ZuPreem Fruit Blend and ZuPreem Natural, but I’ve stopped feeding those a while ago.

I have tried a bunch of them and Levi’s faves are....
Harrison’s, Top’s, Zupreme Natural & Higgins InTune Natural.
I have the Goldenfest, but it’s the one you cook & he likes that VM.

Gus didn't like Harrison's Lifetime coarse or the high potency. He ate them begrudgingly but he wasn't eating enough. But he LOVES LOVES LOVES the Pepper Lifetime Coarse pellets, and he LOVES the Power Treats. He hates all vegetables, and likes only sweet fruits which he isn't supposed to have because yeast.

I'm in the same position! Bought a bag of Harrison's for conversion, but haven't yet begun. Waiting until either the lab results for Zupreem Fruit Blend are publicized to make the decision - or until my supply runs low. I had planned to use this situation as a good excuse to try conversion, as Harrison's seems healthier.

Have you tried the conversion advice from the Harrison's website?

Thanks guys, it is a bummer to be forced into this position. I was watching Timneh so happily eating her zupreem pellets from her playstand dish before bed. Thought to myself this kind of stinks, I just wish I held higher hopes for our new pellets. Timneh is also super fussy, and still make mash that I feed to her every night with a spoon. I worry about trying the pepper variety because of my little puggle. She picks up some of the discarded pellets. She would probably learn fast enough not to eat them though. Just for s and g’s I’m headed out to PetSmart to see what they have. I have three smaller bags on order from amazon already. Going to be a lot of pellets around here. I’ll keep you guys posted on my test results.

I forgot to mention that Timneh weighed in at a Herculean weight this morning after venting a massive colossal 301 grams lol. So I will be staying on top of this. If she doesn’t readily take to any of them I will probabaly to the 15 minute feeding windows with Harrisons.

So great news Timneh seems to like TOPS. She took right to them. First she tried roudy bush but dropped em on the floor. Then she went to town on 3 TOPS pellets for small hookbills. Then she did try a roudy bush pellet and seemed to like it but wouldn't eat another. then she ate another TOPS pellet. So very excited. Thanks for the suggestion Chris.

My birds eat harrisons as the two chis mentioned arn't available in australia at all. I would stick with tops and goldenobles..those two are unique ingredient wise and I have read nothing but good about them the rest including harrisons probably do more harm than good.
