I have a 5 week old indian ringneck and i was wondering when the nails could be clip for the first time

I assume you are still hand feeding him formula with a syringe or spoon, right? How warm is his brooder? How warm
Is his formula? How often are you feeding him?

You can give him the tiniest little nail trying now, just enough to allow you to handle him without trying. But he absolutely sure not to trim his wings until he is around 6 months old at least.

Commonly very young Parrots will have short, sharp nails, but they will not need to be trimmed for at least the first year, if not longer. Having different types and sizes of perches, including one concrete or concrete like perch will help in naturally keeping their nails trimmed.

A 5 week old IRN is barely perching, and the nails at this stage will make you bleed. It’s almost impossible to handle them at this age without blunting the nails, but you have to be careful not to take too much length because they need it for balance. I suggest a nail file rather than a clipper.
