Nesting

My 18 year old green cheek conure is often puffed up with his wings drooping, regurgitate on his foot and spends a lot of time in his blanket on top of his cage. The vet said he is fine. That I need to spritz him twice a week. I took away his mirror but I don't want to take his bed away. I am desperate for him to be healthy and shiny, he is obviously hormonal. 🙄

Take his bed away. Seriously. It’s spring and he is confused and thinks he should be making babies.

Thanks. I will. I feel really bad about it honestly. As if it will make him miserable. I am noticing he had mutilated feathers on his chest

The environmental cues like a nest trigger hormonal changes in birds that make your bird more miserable. That’s why I suggest to take his bed away. I know it’s hard to remove something he enjoys, but it seems that it’s not good for him.
