Never Give Up!

Masuka is my Melodious Laughing Thrush, and we have had her for more than 2 years. We have given her fruit and veggies in addition to her Low iron pellets and mealworms every day since we got her. She completely ignored all fresh food until a couple of months ago, and she finally started eating every single fruit we offered her. Don't ever give up on offering fresh things, because they may just come around.

Please excuse the cage floor in the video, she flings her food everywhere, and the cage was changed that morning & after her dinner.

You are so right about never giving up. It seems like some birds will never try the first bite and then one day they do and the reward is so worth the effort.

Good job!! Funny, I was considering making almost the same post myself as Dusty is beside me chowing down on some kale. I gave it to him several times soon after I brought him home but he showed no interest at all. I didn't try it again for a while until yesterday and I was surprised when he actually tried it. Gave him some today and he's all over it! So absolutely, don't give up

Masuka is Adorable...its Great that she has started to eat fresh veggies...yes indeed we should never give up...you have some very unusual and Beautiful birds in your aviary Terry. Thank you for sharing it was wonderful to watch Masuka on video.

It was the most amazing feeling ever! I so enjoy fixing her food dishes every day, her appetite is huge now.

That is awesome! YAY Dusty! Rex goes crazy for kale, and rubs against it so much when eating he has dyed his poor chest green.

Thank you, Mary Suka is such a cool little girl, and has come so far since we got her. She was living in a tiny round cage with one perch, and she could only scoot sideways on the perch, she was too big to even turn around in the cage
