Over a year ago i started volenteering at a parrot sanctuary. Last week i was named director..not sure if that's good or not but its nice to know ive done a good job with the parrots. Some come in abused, others abandoned at the gate. Alot abandoned at the gate. Anyways i inquired some finches about a month ago left behind by someone who didnt want them. Jack and jill are doing great! They even gave me a baby! Now im new to all this egg hatching stuff but everything seems to be going ok if you have advice.let me know..heres some pix..im so excited ro be a part of this llittle birds life.

Congratulations, Madame Director!
WOW!
Congratulations on EVERYTHING, in fact!
Very proud to know you.

Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
Fudge! Wish I lived in Florida..I'd just LOVE to give my time helping a parrot rescue/sanctuary!
Everytime Amy and I visit her "buddies" at the local pet store,they always have those tiny little finch guys and gals just flitting about in cages. I always wondered if you could turn them into "companion" birdies..they ARE adorable!
And I agree!! Congrats Ms Director Lady ;)

Sunny a female B&G macaw;
Japie (m) & Appie (f), both are congo african grey;
All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
So cute... but do not forget to put it in a different cage in a few weeks. ;)

Males can start to reproduce as early as 3 months old, the girls at 4.
(Of course every sensible breeder will wait till they are at least a year old before letting them)

And yes- they will (inter)breed with mom/dad/sisters/brothers, they do not care.

I love the mixed-pattern ones, used to have a bunch of them in my aviary.
