Welcome Dani
Your birds name are cute Twix and Maltese
Looking forward to seeing the pic's

They sound very cute! My tiel is a cinnamon pied whiteface. Not very heavily pied though, almost looks normal. Can't wait to see pics! Are you handfeeding them, if they're only 4 weeks old?

She said they are already weaned :)

Do you mean four months then? Tiels wean at a minimum of 8 weeks old.
If they're still healthy right now without you feeding them 3-4 times a day, then they're probably weaned and you have their ages wrong. ;)

the breeder i got them off said they were fully weaned and they were born a month ago.....im not sure, but thats what she said.

I'm not trying to pick on you or anything fyi, just all my alarm bells went off when you said they were 4 weeks and weaned, that's all. Don't want you to lose your babies!

She is planning on getting a vet check soon :)
And do you know what the usual amount of months is for a weaned cockatiel? They seem to be eating okay, but i'm not that sure!

I think 8 weeks is the average, which is why 4 weeks sounds waaay too early to be eating on their own. Some breeders wait to let them go until 10-12 weeks to make sure they're eating right.

I agree that 4 weeks is too early to wean a cockatiel... Maybe it was force weaned...

I would have some hand rearing formula on hand just in case...

hey guys,
well i have read all your comments, and considering everything that has happened the past week, I am pretty sure the breeder I got them from was lying about their age. But I have no prooof...
Anyways so Twix was fine one morning and then I come back and there is blood all over the cage. (well thats an exaggeration, there were smears, but there wasn't a lot) anyways it was from his right wing, and that is the wing he cant use very well. The breeder said that he got attacked at birth by his father, and he lost the ability to fly because he lost his feathers under the main wing. So anyways, I stop the bleeding and clog it and I was so worried, because the bleeding could start up anytime soon. So you know, i let it go overnight, see how hes doing in the morning. So I go back to the cage, there is a part of a blood feather. At this point I am really stressed bceuase I am thinking Twix is gonna die. And after that, he wasn't looking all the best so my dad and I took him to the vet. The vet gave him some shots for...parasites, some antibioti9cs, and something else but i forgot what it was. Anyways, so the vet said that Twix didn't look like he had been attacked, it looked as though he had done it to himself. And he doesn't look like he had been attacked, he looked like a sick bird. So you know, I was going to myself, Twix is gonna die. But he gave him the shots, and the vet also looked at Malteser, and Malteser is fine, thank God. Anyways, so we get home and let Twix rest for the rest of the day and then the next morning, he is chirping and he was happy again! That was.....yesterday? Im pretty sure it was, so whatever the vet did it worked, because my little Twix is looking a lot better!

So, after that long passage, as promised, here is a photo. This is my little Twix! I couldn't get a picture of Malteser because whenever I came near him with the amera, he would fly away! :( So, without further adue, heres Twix!;

I feed my cockatiel seeds as well as fruit and vegetables plus sprouted seeds, grains.
Hey there, Lene!
I've been trying to feed them food other than seeds, and they like carrot! I tried them on some apple but they didn't even go near it! What foods would you suggest I give them?
