Forever in my heart. Sunny the Corella
Hello everyone!
Long time since I’ve posted on here, I’ve still got my lovely little flock of cockatiels and Budgies in their aviary outside.

Someone in my local area posted that they had found a budgie on New Year’s Day. In fact they’d hit it in their car!..but luckily very gently and he ended up trapped in there roof rack.
No one came forward to claim him so they reached out to me to see if I’d take him in.
So yesterday I went to pick the little guy up. He’s ever so sweet and friendly. He’s much smaller than my budgies and I’m gathering rather young due to the head/neck stripes? Am I right? How old do you think?

Originally the plan was for him to go into the aviary after a couple of weeks quarantine. But I’m not to sure as he is quite human ordinated and being young I’d worry about him being bullied. But in saying that Wolfie (cockatiel) though not hand tame but will sit on arm, shoulder or head was also very human oriented when I got him and he’s gone well in the aviary. Though he still prefers me over the other birds, and I do feel bad for him outside sometimes, but it’s a better and more natural environment with company of his own kind..
Anyway back to the budgie. If I did decide or doesn’t go to plan in the aviary and he stays indoors I guess I’d have to find him a friend. I wasn’t really planning for indoor birds especially now I have a toddler. But it could work as I’ve put the cage in my guinea pig room.
The budgie (not yet named!). Seems healthy enough, though is quiet and just perched a lot without exploring his cage much etc. though he is eating and makes the occasional chirp. but he’s had a full few days so could just be exhausted..hopefully. Though I am thinking I should treat him for any potentially diseases especially as I might try to introduce to my aviary.
Can I do this, just treat him in case? Or is that harmful to him if he hasn’t got anything wrong? If I can, what medication/product can I use that covers most bases? I’m in Australia, preferably something I can buy in a shop?
Thank you!

Welcome and you have a real cutie. I know absolutely nothing practical about budgies. CAG yes. But we have a true budgie lover here. When she sees this you'll get helpful advice. Hear or rather read this DonnaBudgie?
