New Conure Owner

Hello everyone! I just got my jenday conure this past weekend and have been trying to read everything I can on my new friend! In just a few short days I have definitely fallen in love with this little guy! He is six months old and my family and I have named him Pierre. I have been spending lots of time with him, sitting by the cage, reading to him, and eating around him to try to build his trust. Of course I realize this will take time, but I was wondering if anyone has any other suggestions to make him feel more secure. Thanks everyone!
