Hello! I found this forum when I was doing lots of research looking at birds, and I thought I would introduce myself. I just brought home a two month old blue crown conure this week named Nono. He loves his yellow snuggle tent and sitting on his highest perch. He is my first bird so I'm probably going to have lots of questions :D

Well then, welcome aboard Agnes, nice that you decided to join our little group & congrats on your new blue crown......one thing on his snuggle tent, just keep an eye out for the possibility that he might want to chew on it...most birds don't, but some do & have gotten wrapped up in the mono-filament fishing line that is used to stitch them together with.....I've never had a bird that bothered their's, but every once in a while we hear of horror stories, so since you're new to parronting, thought you should know.....

Ask away with your questions, we all started in the same place, with the same questions.....

I'll definitely watch for that! He seems to be a chewer already. Thanks!

Welcome Agnes!! :)

Congratulations on your Blue Crown :D I love conures, They're so quirky :)

I must inform you, that you have made a wonderful decision joining this community, just be careful because it is quite addicting. Actually, don't be careful, the more time you spend here the better. I just wrote a short guide on behavior, check it out if you have time :)

The sooner you start learning how to positively reinforce, the better. Don't wait for a problem to occur, prevent it!

My guide is by far from perfect, and lacks a lot, but it will get you on the right path. :)

Hello Agnes, welcome to the forum. Nono sounds adorable, enjoy your adventure.

Welcome! This is a great place for information. I was just like you a few months ago and have learned so much from here!

Hi and welcome! I believe this is the best parrot forum and has the best information you could ask for. I have my little sun conure who has his sleep tent that he loves and sleeps in every night. I check it for loose strings daily. They are fun little birds! Post pics when you can...we love pics!
