New ecky owner from perth WA

Hey guys

I've been searching high and low for a forum to talk about my birds and ask other birdy familys about theirs. I am new to owning birds my first was a princess parrot in jan, he is adorable and very tame he loves to play on the floor and climb all over me and just recently he has started talking to me in chirps and whistles.
I had my name down for the last 6 months for an ecky and finally 2days ago I picked her up and brought her home, she seems to be settling in well and is very content with sitting on my shoulder but my gosh she is such a loud squawker whether it is a normal behaviour or not im not sure however so far so good! in about a week I will see how settled she is and attempt some training.

Introducing Mr Milo possibly the cutest but naughtiest Princess Parrot ever but still much loved and when he's not trying to eat the camera he's a bit of a poser.
Miss Scarlet the newest edition to our birdy family she's extremely loud and will not do settle for anything but your shoulder to sit on. both of them are still quite young, Milo is about 7 months old and Scarlet is brand new 12weeks old.

Jade, Candy is from Western Australia, not Washington state It's easily the biggest Au state, worth 5-10 of yours... but then you have 50 something of them

Hi Candy, we're to your north about 900km, we also have an Eccy (male, 3 years old, handraised) as well as a pair (M&F) of non-handraised Eccies. We also have a Princess Parrot (name of Kermit, coz he looked like a frog, deformed beak, missing toe etc) hand-raised and a real maniac We also have a Plumhead called Jade

Nice to see you here, where in Perth did you get your girl? Our first eccy came from Perth, we moved to NSW, took him to Tasmania in the car (so he crossed on the ferry) but died 2-3 months later. I suspect the gas heater in the house, it was a bitter winter in western NSW in 2010. Alex the "new" guy is actually sitting in front of me as I type this, on my PC desk. It's very close to his, and my bedtime though.

And your Eccie is equally as beautiful. You should start training her to not sit on your shoulder, you don't want that to be her favourite spot when she reaches puberty and unpredictible hormonal aggression starts. Eclectus have very painful bites!
