She? Came in a very tiny cage with Cockatiel food. Her water dish was nasty. If she were a tiel I'd say she is hissing. Maybe it's a kiss sound. She is also already making thrilling sounds. She and Jet are talking. Despite the conditions she looks very healthy.

Her previous owner said she knew she wasn't taking care of it and is glad she found a new home.

Aww, what a beautiful budgie! I'm so glad you brought her home with you!
Thank goodness her previous owner realized that she was not taking care of her and gave her to someone who will love her and care for her properly:)

She's a cutie! I'm glad she has a loving home now. :) You might want to take her to the vet just in case... I know ever since that thread about Raja dying from polyoma probably straight from the breeder and Jack possibly being infected I've been feeling extra paranoid. I refused to take my Quaker to Petsmart the other day.

She wants out. She's already preening and beak grinding and all over her cage. She is current trying to open her food door.

I'd always take a new bird to get disease tests. ESPECIALLY if not from a closed aviary and even more so from CL or any unknown background. $20 for the bird and cage, but another $100+ IMHO I personally would do also.

The incident Puck mentioned above is not isolated. After you've been a bird person for some time, you can't even go 6 months without hearing about some deadly contagious virus someone got from somewhere. The bird usually "looks" perfect too. Some people on the forum announce it, others don't, but trust me it's unfortunately not rare. THAT is why I'm so passionate about this. At the very least, please quarantine ;)
