Hi I am a first time bird owner! As of right now I have the prevue 25Lx21Wx29H it is the coated in the safe paint, but I am noticing the paint is chipping in places and shes pretty rough of her cage. Even though its "safe" paint I assume that cannot be good for her if shes ingesting some of it. So I am looking for cages that have either a more durable finish or no finish at all. At the moment I am looking at this cage...Bird Cages: HQ Wrought Iron Flight Cage w/ Cart Stand
My two concerns
1. is Wrought iron a more durable safer option?
2. Is the height too high for a clumsy 4 month old who sometimes misses a perch and will fall some what gracefully?

Any suggestions, brand names, tips etc will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!:green:

my conures cage is very similar to that one, mines also .5 inch spacing with wrought iron... i have the perches spread out cus i want him to get used to trying to use his wings and work those muscles - he's actually getting quite good at navigating his cage! sometimes he will climb up the sides of the cage using the bars lol - or just hang out on the bars like a fly on the wall lol.

i got him from a petstore and they had him basically in a tiny plastic box :( when i got him if he tried to fly he would flutter striaght to the ground. but now even though his flight feathers still haven't come in, he can get enough lift to go from the bottom of his cage to the top in 1 swoop. having a flight cage is very important for a birds health, especially if they spent most of the day in the cage. but mine spends 99% of the day on my shoulder, so trying to get him more used to being in the cage lol...basically if he sees me home on the computer, he starts screaming and moving his head back and forth signaling me "come here and get me out!!"

the only time he is in the cage is when he eats breakfast in the morning when i wake him up, and dinner at night when i have to throw him back inside :/

Some of these are double or triple stackers but to get an idea of size and such. If you want to plan ahead you could get the double if you plan on more birds....

My triple is 36 by 24 by 23
My double was something like 32 by 26 by 26...can't remember the exact measurements.
The cage with the cockatoo is similar to the one you are looking at but one door which I like more.

Height isn't a problem. If she is wobbly just but perches lower until she is better at getting around.

Thanks so much for all the advice! Me and Penelope thank you !
