I currently have a male cockatiel named Rocky!!
Hi, everyone! My name is Tamara and i am new to the board! I am a stay at home mom to 3 children, 3 dogs, and my cockatiel Rocky. I am looking to add an amazon to my home in the next month or two, provided I find a reputable breeder who is honest (just went through getting scammed and fighting banks for deposit back). If anyone knows of any breeders new ky id love your input!!! Ty

Hey Tamara, welcome to the forum.Have you looked on birdbreeders.com. What type of amazon is your 1st choice?

I am from Kentucky, and I hear the Parrot pad is a good breeder. Best of luck, let me know how it goes.
PS we'd love to see pics of Rocky.

Yes thats where i got in my being scammed mess. He even had good reviews from others!!! I am leaning towards a yellow naped

Hm, theres one in nashville tn that seemed pretty reputable too. what was the deal w/ the parrot pad so ill know not to deal w/ them

Lol it wasnt the parrot pad, it was a breeder on birdbreeders.com

Which one,i'm a member and most are pretty straight up. James at the Bird Hut is just west of Nashville.

So sorry to hear that! Have you tried petfinder.com? I see a whole bunch of Amazons on there needing homes, I didn't know what part of Kentucky you are in, but you can search by zip code!

I've met James from the Bird Hut...I wasn't impressed with his birds as I find them extremely dirty, and overly priced. You'll see what I mean if you attend the spring bird fair in March. He'll be there most likely. I would never bring dirty babies out to sell.....

If you wait til March at the Nashville bird fair, you'll find lots of Amazon deals there if you can't find any to adopt.

Hen aren't you an Amazon breeder??

Yes i am but the OP asked for a local breeder and i'm not a member here to sell birds. Occasionally i'll mention it if i have babies to move but i have other channels and would rather just help new owners.I do have Napes that are looking like they might be ready to lay,But also have a waiting list.

When is that supposed to be exactly??? I have never been, but we go to nashville once a year and that would be awesome!!!!!!

There's two bird clubs and both hold a fair on their own. One is located in Murfreesboro, TN. which is not far from Nashville. At the MTSU Campus, Middle TN State University, 1720 Greenland Drive, murfreesboro, TN. Admission is $3/ea. 3/17/12 from 9-5 and 3/18/12 from 10-4.

One in Nashville at the Creative Arts Building located at the TN State Fair Ground is 4/21/12 from 8-4, and 4/22/12 from 9-3 and the admissions is $5/ea.
