I have 2 conures and both were potty trained in about 4 hours. My youngest one who I'd only had for about a month and a half has actually never pooped on me or an unsatisfactory place as of yet (I do expect accidents so it's actually kind of a fluke). I figured it helpful to add a physical gesture or something like that as well as a phrase when potty training because it eliminates the confusion. I do a very slight tail tap as well as "go poopy" and it seems to work wonders. You just do the tap and phrase when you think your bird has to go (say every 15 mins) and wait for them to go in the desired spot while repeatedly saying the phrase and doing gesture and when they go give them a treat. Repeat until they know exactly what you want them to do. You have to be vigilant or this won't work so that means you can't forget to take them to the potty spot or if too much time goes by they'll have no choice but to go.on you. Never punish them for going on you...just ignore it and move on. Now that I've thought them that I can get mine to go anywhere, the sink, perch in cage, play stands, trash cans, outside literally anywhere, onto a towel in the car and even the toilet. I have a video of Ollie my sun going in the toilet on my YouTube channel linked in my signature. Hope this helps!
