New here - new to parrots

Hi all!

I'm Dee!

I decided to join here as part of my ongoing research into what parrot is right for my family. I am hoping that in a few years, when my two year old is a bit older, we will be able to add a feathered friend to our family.

I have always been attracted to CAGs, and am a member of the Grey Forum, but have also been looking at Eclectus and small macaws.

I am hoping to get some hands-on experience with a variety of types before we add to our family. There aren't really any rescues local to me (western NY on the PA border) but would love to get involved with one if there was.

I breed chinchillas and own rescue pit bulls and siamese cats - so I'm used to having a bit of a challenge when it comes to a pet! I swear my siamese gets into more trouble than my toddler.

Many guardian will gladly offer advise pertaining to CAG (me included), as well as Eclectus and Macaws.
