Ziva IRN 2 years old
My daughter adopted Ziva.. approx 2 yo female INR from the local animal shelter about 5 months ago. My daughters situation changed and I now have myself a Ziva in my living room. So far she has been a joy to own (my first bird), but she is still attached to my daughter and won't talk like she did with daughter. Ziva gets plenty of attention, but she still shys away from me. She doesn't bite unless tired, but still wary of me. How long can i expect this to last? I realize I am her third "mom" in 2-3 years, and I have read they get attached to a certain person. Any advice on how to get Ziva acclimated to me and not be so shy?

Welcome to the forum.
Just give it time, soon she will figure out that you are her care giver and that you are her new mommy. If she was bonded to your daughter it can take a long time for her to like you, so just be patient and keep on loving her and eventually she will come around.

It will take time but she warm up to you. Then she will start chatting again

Welcome to the forum.... just give her some time to adjust to the changes and she should start being comfortable and talking again.

Welcome. I was a Field Rep for Collins for 25 years, and have spent a lot of time in Cedar Rapids. Hard to believe it's been four years since your bad flood.

Give her as much freedom as you can.
