New Jumbo Cage (pic heavy)

So a few days ago Howie moved into his new McMansion.

I put all kinds of new toys, and climbing activities in there. I'm thinkin' he's loving it! This cage is ginormous 48"x34"x60" by Avian Adventures the Hacienda Dometop. I'm so glad that he has all this space for when I'm not home.

One thing I did not take into consideration is the bar gauge is 6mm, or 1/4". Which is pretty thick especially for standard size openings on pear hooks for hanging toys. Needless to say I had a heck of a time getting some of his toys on his cage...

The majority of the toys, perches, and ropes I bought at this website I just recently discovered called True Love Aviary. They have a huge selection in every category, and I thought the prices were very reasonable. I thought for the prices some of the toys would be on the smaller side, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I'm not sure what to do with his old cage. It's a perfectly good cage, but I'm not really interested in trying to sell it. I was thinking about reaching out to some rescues in the area to see if they would have a need for it. I would hate for it to go to waste.

What a fabulous new home for Howie Huge AND packed with toys. The spoiled resident looks quite pleased

I think donating the old cage would be a excellent idea if you are able to. Shelters always need more cages.

That cage looks amazing! I wish I had the funds for one that big, but I've been firmly told that I'm on a cage budget for now.

Was the "McMansion" and "he's Lovin' it" pun intentional? Cause I just had mcdonalds for dinner(I know, shame on me.) and I had to laugh at that hehe.

I feel your pain about the bar gauge! I had that problem with my last huge cage. Luckily the boyfriend is handy with a pair of pliers hehe

Ha ha! Pun NOT intended! Wow I didn't even realize I had put those together, I should have just owned it but I can't lie. Lol wowee and a little McDonald's now and then can't hurt

That cage is amazing! Looks like Howie is really enjoying his new palace! Lots of great toys as well, I am definitely not letting my fids see this!

I think it would be awesome if you could donate his old cage to a rescue
