Thank you everyone for the kind words. Chancy is definitely a lovely bird, and has already started to discover his voice, picking up a few whistles and already learned to bop his head up and down when happy.
Some pics of my other birds:
This is Scotch my Rainbow Lorikeet, unsure of age as I rescued her from a pet shop when she was already fully grown and with an injured leg, Scotch is now completely healed and Ive had her about 15 years. She is the most friendliest/loony bird ever, very vocal, very happy and always up for a play or a chat
Next parrot I currently have, his name is Tequila (or Tiki for short!) He is a Yellow-Crested Lorikeet. He is just as looney if not more than Scotch, and has learned every single noise/word from Scotch also. The pictures of Tiki here are when he was quite young. I have owned Tiki for approximately 5 years and he is nearly 6 years old:
Next is my Musk Lorikeet, her name was Brandy. Brandy unfortunately passed away last week at 21 years of age after a happy life. My parents bought Brandy for me when I was 3 years old, and she was my best friend growing up. I can still remember as a young kid riding my bike around the neighborhood with Brandy sitting on top of the front of the bike. She will be sorely missed:
Lastly, this was my Crimson Rosella. His name was Cheple (Cherry +Apple). I had Cheple for about 10 years before he passed away of old age early last year. Unsure how old Cheple was as we rescued him after being neglected by previous owners. Cheple was blind in one eye and partially blind in the other eye, but he still got around by using his beak to prod surrounding objects to make his way around. When we first got Cheple he was very afraid of humans and would retreat to the far side of his cage when you approached him. After a couple years of handling he became extremely friendly, and always made happy noises and wagged his tail when you said hello, and always wanted to come out of his cage and sit on your finger and preen your hair. Cheple had a rough start to life but spent the last 10 years of his life very happy and loved. He turned out to be one of the kindest, friendliest parrots ive ever come across, and you could tell all he ever wanted was some love. Cheple is also sorely missed and was a beautiful parrot, with very attractive red, black and blue feathers:
