New owner of a 9 month old Severe Macaw

Greetings everybody,

We were fortunate to be able to add a 9 month old Severe Macaw into our family. We have only had him for about 3 weeks and he is still getting used to his new surroundings. He is pretty good about step up when he is out of his cage but doesn't like to do it inside his cage. I am learning click training and hope that will help.

I look forward to reading all the posts here to learn more about taking care of our new family member.

Welcome and be welcomed. Keep working on that Step Up. Its the one command that has to become almost instinctive, you never know when you might have to get him someplace in a hurry.
