Lutino Quaker
Hi all,

After many months of research and visits here, I will become a Dad again on Saturday afternoon. I will pick up my 10 week old Lutino Quaker. After many years (35? omg), I decided last year I'd get another parrot when I retire and have the time to spend with it. Well retirement has come and so has my dream! Thanks to all on this site. It has helped me immensely! As I build my gallery....Pics will come

Welcome & Congratutions!!

Wonderful News, best of luck to you both.
And yes, please post pix. We love pictures. :)

Welcome to the community! And congrats on your new baby Quaker! I brought my baby Quaker home when she was 12 weeks old, she is now 3 years old, and i love her to bits. She's the clown of the house, without a doubt, and she's a dancing fool! The second she hears any music she starts ripping it up, and she is also a head-banger...literally. She will go crazy once in a while and head-bang so hard and so fast that it's extremely impressive...You'll love your little guy, they are extremely intelligent, so much fun, and at the same time they are so loving and just want to cuddle and get scritches. And as babies they are the cutest little balls of feathers in the world.

And it's nice to have a fellow northeasterner! I'm in central PA, so I'm not far off from you at all, and I make the trek to Cleveland at least 5-10 times a year for long-weekend trips, as I'm a musician and a life-member of the Rock Hall, and I absolutely adore Cleveland.

Welcome and be welcomed. Make sure you socialize your quaker with as many people as you can, they can get possessive of their 'person'. And they love , love to make nests out of sticks - give yours a few hundred Popsicle sticks , you'll see !

Welcome, come on in!

Howdy and welcome! My little rooster and I are in the Cleveland area. I too, retired recently and became a portrait artist, a lifelong interest that working just didn't leave a lot of time/energy for. I'm glad you found us!

P.S.
That bird is stunning!

Thanks so much everyone for the warm welcome! I’ve spent about the last 20 Yrs. dedicated to bluebirds. From never seeing one before to 5 or 6 clutches each year on my property. Have had a life long love for birds :)

Welcome!
I agree with the statement above that young birds should be well socialized with many situations and people. When baby was young we took her to the park a lot. The kids would pass her around and she did great..... :)
A new family member is going to be a lot of fun for you!

Welcome Dan, congratulations on your retirement!! Wishing you a great time with your Lutino Quaker!

Thanks for the tips on socializing. My Grand Daughters and their friends should help a lot with that. Love the popsickle stick idea! And had no idea so many members are in my area. My wife works across the street from the Rock Hall. I would hate driving downtown everyday....but she loves it. I worked on the west side of Cleveland not far from the airport. Don't miss the looong commute. I'm too busy to have time for work :)

I heard THAT, Danz. I worked downtown across the street from the big Cleveland post office!
