New parrot owner in Florida

Hello,
I just inherited an Amazon green parrot who is fifty and an Amazon green cheeked parrot? I don't have much medical history on them and I am just trying to learn how to take care of them and help them enjoy life.

Welcome to a fellow Floridian. Wow, such longevity at 50. And to think they can live even more! Thank you for wanting to care for them. Several members here have amazons that can be helpful! Finding a board certified avian vet if they don't have one already would also do wonders!

Welcome to and your new flock! I assume they came with cages, toys, and a supply of food for a while?

Do you have previous experience with birds? Just asking so we can better target the advice!

Welcome and be welcomed. Please go the Amazon sub-forum and read the stickies at the top of the page. THe one on Amazon body language is critical. Read it to yourself, and then read it out loud to your parrots, in a nice voice, sitting next to their cages. Amazons love being read to. In fact do this a few times, so that you can recognize the various body language clues immediately. Thank you for taking on these 2 little lives.
