Just want to say hello to all. My wife and I just bought a :green2: and we are loving him. I do have question, he is getting little "spikes" is what they look like on his head, is this normal? He is about 14 weeks old, just wondering.

Welcome! If they're white-ish then they are just pin feathers, they can't reach the pins on their head easily so they tend to appear on bird's head more visibly. When new feathers grow back they had a waxy white-ish protective sheath on them, it'll break away with time and preening. If he'll let you and you feel confident enough, you can help remove some of the one's on his head by gently and carefully pinching/squeezing the pin feathers between finger and thumb (don't roll it or pull it, that would be painful and he'd more than likely nip you or at least be very unhappy with you).
What species is your bird? Would love to see a picture :)

Welcome. May I ask what species of parrot did you get? Those "little spikes" are new feathers and depending on species, 14 weeks old could be very young (still needing hand feeding) or old enough to be considered a fully weaned juvenile.

Welcome!

I too would like to know what kind of fid you have.

Sounds like what you are referring to are 'pin feathers'. They appear when new feathers have grown in, they will eventually 'shed' the white coating and the feathers will open.
