Kookie has been a complete sweetheart! Well she definitely hated me at first though hahah I made a YouTube channel for Kookie and our journey together, feel free to subscribe to support 🤗 looking forward to learning from all of you!

XOXO Kookie!

Hello Kookie, and Mommy, and welcome to the forum, I really enjoyed your video, and look foreword to the next. Thank You....

Welcome to the Community!!! You've found the best overall Parrot Community on the Web, hands-down, and we're so glad to have you and Kookie joining us!

I just got to watch (some) of your video.

I don't know how old the shop told you Coco is but based on the amount of yellow on his neck he is not a young bird. Most YNA don't develop the yellow coloration for a few years though it can vary depending on where there specific sup-species came from (Costa Rica, Guatemala or wherever).
I think it's great you are buying and rescuing an older bird, many advantages in it.
He definitely likes you. The head bobbing is a precursor to regurgitating food to feed you. A sure sign of love at first sight.

I am not sure what the biting is all about I can only guess. I think he is testing you to see how you react. He may have been mistreated with a former owner and he want's to make sure you won't hit him for hurting you.
You need to make sure to respond correctly to this in order to get him to stop the biting before it gets out of hand.

Unfortunately I have to go to work right NOW and can't go into more detail.

Does he have some red in his yellow neck feathers? I have never seen that in a YNA before.

Welcome! I'm glad you two are here. I'll look forward to following your journey of learning and contributing!
