Patches the Grand Eclectus, my best friend. RIP
Cuckoo the BFA RIP
Hanging out with Tucker this morning, he climbed off my hand to snuggle up under my chin as he does every once in a while. This time, he turned his head over against my neck, and rolled on to his back, and just laid like that on my shoulder! Soooooo cute! I fumbled to get my phone out to grab a pic before the moment was over. Before the pic, he had his head laid back on my chest. Here's the best I could grab before he got too wiggly and climbed back to right side up.

I know, not quite an official "trick" but it's the first time he did anything like that, and just felt like a huge leap in the trust department. Happy Dad!

That's a yoga pose... the Upwards Rooster!

We had a funny yoga-poses thread a while back. I'll see if I can find it.

Here's the complementary pose...

Heck yeah, that bird trusts you. Salty trusts me implicitly, but will only stay on his back for me for like
5-10 seconds. When he's had enough, I know aa little nip is coming if i push the issue. Did you give himm a treat for doing this?

I didn't have any treats handy since he did it on his own completely out of the blue. He did get lots of praise, snuggles, and kisses though. What an awesome little guy!

Yep that's trust in Daddy! Amy will lay in my hand on his back and I can "toss" him from one hand to the other..I don't do that often tho I'm afraid he'd wiggle in mid-toss and I'd screw up on catching him and he'd go thud on the floor since he doesn't fly...trust would go out the window then!

There is a guy on you tube who has 3 B^G macaws who lay on their backs and he juggles them.

That's HUGE for trust! Especially when it comes to ekkies! Congratulations! He is bonding with you so well! I was over the moon when Maya first trusted me enough!

Look at how small she was back then! Lol! She was practically a baby!

Fabulous photos! I don’t think trust comes easy to an Ekkie but no question these two beauties have absolute trust in their dads.

Well... The upside down boy continues to progress. He's really starting to like swinging back and forth hanging from my hand. He's so much fun! Love my little boy.

Beautiful pics! I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying watching the journey as you two continue to bond.
