New :)

Hello, I'm Shawchert and I just got some parakeets two days ago. They are exciting little things, though very scared still, and unsure, but they are my first birds ever. I've done my research on them before I got them. I got two because I'm not always around, but when I am I'll be there to take care of them. They are actually very quiet birds (I'm surprised). Here is a picture of them:

The blue one's name is Gum, the white's is Bear . My son named the blue and my dad helped with the white one .

So here's to birdies, I'm rather excited to get to know them as well as you all, and hopefully be a good "mom" to these two birdies as i am to my son

Thank you very much it is sad they were not hand raised but they are still young and hopefully they will come to enjoy my company.

I'm sure they will be great with a little patience. My very first bird was a budgie from Petsmart. He wasn't hand fed at all, but he turned out to be a very friendly little guy. I just took it slow and allowed him to get used to me and before I knew it he was very tame and loved to sit on my shoulder all day.

That's great though I did hear it would be harder when there is a pair or more well see I'm taking it slow though my son is really excited about them still klol

I've had 3 budgies, and they all came from pet stores and weren't tame. With time and patience they all became wonderful pets that enriched my life. Welcome to the forum, and your new birds are beautiful!
