Dusky Pionus
Hi all,

I'm Evie and I have a Dusky Pionus named Bob. He is an 8 month old couch potato who likes to steal my french fries whenever I get Burger King. Bob comes to work with me everyday and "helps" in the office. I don't know a lot of Pionus owners much less Dusky Pi owners... so I thought it'd be cool to come on here and meet some!

oh he is uber cute :) an welcome, but cut down on his french fries lol sneaky little buggers my nut slinks all over trying to steal a little of the restricted foods lol

Haha, it's so funny how birds love the bad stuff almost as much as we (humans) do! I actually eat better now cause of Bob... when I first got him, he would only eat peanuts and sunflower seeds (and pick around the pellets, fruits, and veggies). So I figured if I started eating the good stuff and sharing it with him, he'd be more inclined to eat it. I hate healthy food almost as much as he does.

Welcome!!!! Bob is ADORABLE! I just love pionus' eyes they are so bright and big and the pionus often tends to have a "bird of prey" look to them :)

Hope you and Bob enjoy your stay here!

Aw, he's so cute! Hey Evie. I love pionus! In my opinion, pionus parrots are the best ever! (But I could be biased on the fact I have a White-capped) Glad to meet you two. Hope you enjoy your time on the forum.

They are definitely the most underrated parrots! I grew up with a B&G and a Congo Grey... I didn't learn about what a Pionus is until I met Bob... then I googled him like crazy. Couldn't believe how laid back, quiet, and sweet they are!

funny you say that but chocolate is near banned in the house now an all my cookin i do with nut in mind lol so all our meals are low to no fat/salt, and eating infront or with them is the best way :) in fact nut has her sleepin cage on the kitchen table (we have a huge table) where she shares supper with us before bed, we us to let her have free range but her table manners left alot to be desired lol:11:
