Hey!

I am new to this forum. I recently rescued an Alexandrian Parrot. Its hardly 20 days old. Need some help!!!

It only eats n sleeps. I give it multi grain powder(bird food) mixed with water. i feed it 3 times a day abt 30ml each time. It leans against a teddy bear n sleeps.

Should i add anything new in its routine?
Or should i continue what i am doing?

How do i make it social n well trained. My first eva parrots. When will it start learning?
When will it mimic.?

Keep on doing what your doing! You don't have to worry about training part until weaning time but for the time being you can hold him daily to get him used to you.

Oh wow, you should have never been sold an unweaned parrot unless you're really experienced, even then the majority of breeders in the US won't do it. Most parrots that size (depending on the species) will be approx 4 months old before ready to take home weaned and socialized! Any responsible breeder will hand feed and keep the baby until it's completely weaned and readily eating solid foods on it's own, Hand feeding takes a lot of expertise and is not something for the novice.

First, what country are you in? You say you "rescued it"... What does that mean? How exactly did you get such a young baby bird?

Also could you elaborate on how you rescue such a young baby???

I am from India! Yea i know its illegal in India to posses one. But i am chill!
Few trees were cut near my house to clear the land. I found two of the babies about 20 days old in a tree bark which was left unclaimed. So i jus got them home.
Can wild one trained to talk or obey.

?

Now i am a bit confused about its age as i blindly believed what my friend guessed. I have posted a thread on Alexandrian section. Need some help!!!

If it's illegal to possess one then why don't you give it up to a wildlife rehabilitation center???

It's actually "Alexandrine" :). He's very cute!
I agree with Mikey! It's a good suggestion.
