hi everyone!
My name is Amy, and I am a Pyro gravure artist living in Maine. For 10 years now, I have been lucky to have a flock of 6 cockatiels and 2 budgies. All but 2 of them are rescues, both from Maine, and from MA, where I moved from 5 years ago. (to my regret) All my babies are boys, and my husband and I, made a promise to them that this would be their forever home. We created an aviary for them , so they don't have to be caged. I posted a question about one of my Budgies on the species forum, and I look forward to any feedback from folks, as well as getting to know some of you! Thanks!:yellow1:

Hi there Amy, great to have you joining us. :yellow1:
Look around, many interesting posts, fantastic info and many "bird crazy" members always willing to share and assist.
Get the camera clicking, we love sharing pictures

Thank you very much! I would like to know, if there are any other folks from Maine, where there is a board certified vet in Maine? I live in Eastport, and the only one I can find in the whole state is in Windham, about a 41/2 hour drive from here. I am getting desperate! There was one up here when I moved here 5 years ago, but she left right after I arrived. One of my cockatiels has polyuria, and I am worried HELP!

Hi Amy and welcome. I applaud you for rescuing these sweet birds and giving them a better life.

Sorry to say that I too have only found 1 board certified avian vet in Maine, he's in the same location so I'm sure its the same one that you came across, since he is so far away what I would suggest is that maybe you give them a call and see if they could refer you to an avian vet closer to you, many of the avian vets that I know and use here in Florida know many of their coleagues throughout the state.......
