Very cool (literally!) clouds, Karen! Never heard of the Society, but can appreciate the devotion to a phenomena constantly in flux. Not familiar with this type, but I've learned a lot about the mundane thunderstorm!

Thankfully we have the technology to peer inside the devastating thunderstorm with modern ground and airborne radar. There is a definite "cycle" to their lives, as well as varied sorts of "species" depending on location. My location of SoCal has the "dry" variety while the boomers in the south/southwest are taller, wetter, and far more devastating. The Inter Tropical Convergence Zone resides near the equator and is especially known for especially intense storms!
