I recently started a new job that has me leaving the house about 3 hours earlier than normal. Lizzy does not approve of this. I half uncover her cage before I leave so she can wake up slowly (and pull it off when she's ready to lol) but as soon as she sees me, she gives me this look like "seriously? The sun isn't even up. Go back to bed crazy human." With my other job she was the one to wake me up in the morning!

While I'm having my 40th cup of coffee before I uncover her, I've noticed she talks in her sleep lol. Little stinker knows all kinds of sounds she hasn't shown to us before haha.

That's funny! Yesterday I took care of my critters at 5 am because I had to go to a vet seminar. No one was impressed. The horses are like, What? Why? The chickens are like, duh..duh.... The dog is like, really? Now?. The parakeets are like, turn off the light! The cockatiels are like, who are you? Ah! I don't know who you are. Louise the Blue Front yelps and barks in irritation. Barney, the goofy Yellow Head, pins her pupils, flares her tail and announces loudly, "Mary! I want my coffee!"

Hope she gets used to it soon (I'm sure she will). We've had to wake Kiwi very early a few times, and he just gives us the stink eye and some grunts of displeasure then goes right back to sleep.

@Tessie- That's hilarious! Barney knew what was up being woken so early. Hope she got some tasty fruit instead of coffee though ;)

I leave early in the morning, so I feed my birds the night before. They get their fresh stuff in the afternoon/evenings. During the day it's dehydrated fruits and veggies a little seed and pellets.

It's still dark when I leave for work so I don't wake them. I do peek into the cage to make sure everything is okay.

She's only been on this new routine for a few days so she'll get used to it soon lol. The cats however love it. They know mom up=breakfast. So mom up early=earlier breakfast!

My conure hates when we wake him up too early! We are all night owls and have pretty hectic schedule - once we work at night, and then in the morning. So Parry is used to go to bed late, around midnight. I think it is totally normal for them to be angry if have to get up too early. What about ourselves? :) I'm SOOO ANGRY in these mornings when I have to get up at 7 am (I go to bed at 2am)! It's better not to mess with me at that time. :D
