Not being friendly

Hello
My sun conure is about 7 weeks now still being hand fed. recently he hasnt been very friendly every time i touch is wings he screams and tries to bite even if i touch him very softly. Is this normal? he also has been flapping his wings a lot trying to make his first flight but no successful yet.

I don't know much about Sun Conures but is he still developing feathers? Might be feeling very uncomfortable and grumpy right now.

Yes he still doesn't have any feathers on his neck there still growing.

He might be a lot younger than you were told...

Wings are very delicate... You need to touch them softly... If he screams, he might have an injury, that needs to be seen to by a vet...

Regardless, I would go for a check-up...

Yes that was my first thought that he had hurt his wing and you touching it and making him scared of you because he thinks you make him hurt won't help your bonding get him to a vet and see if that is what is the problem and maybe get some light pain killers for the bird.

Yes, could be any number of things. If your breeder told you the wrong age you will want to verify that with a vet as well.

Some birds just don't liked to be touched on their wings. If I try to touch my boys anywhere other than their beak or very top of their head they give me a warning "quack" and will lunge if I don't move quick enough. As they grow they start figuring out what they like and don't and I got my birds around 8 weeks and they went through a major nippy, don't touch phase at that age.
