oak dowel

so i have a long piece about 2" diameter, i was thinking of cutting it up and using it as toy pieces but i have gotten mixed advice on using oak...some say it is ok to use other say its a no-no...please advise~thanks

Yes i saw that, however on another site it says as long as you dont have bark/leaves it is safe, that is why i am asking

I second what GC said. At my PL classes it was said do not use oak around birds.
