Shadow - Six year old Congo African Grey
I was wondering if anyone knows what this behaviour means? She does this all the time and I don't know why, but for some reason it makes me feel like she's nervous. She has nothing in her corner that could scare her or make her feel uncomfortable. It's something she's always done.

That is an invitation for a male bird to get on her back.:p

My male grey does this when he is nervous or wants to go somewhere other than where he is. He is not into flying, he prob was not aloud to fledge and was clipped the fist few years of his life.

Yep, looks like "Hey, baby!!" activity to me...

Well, if it’s any consolation, mine does that all the time but these past few weeks it’s been more frequent. Time of year? More hormonal in late Spring? I don’t know.
He or she also spends much time scratching and shredding the newspaper at the bottom of the cage and tries to regurgitate as soon as I get near the cage and give her/him any attention. Hasn’t been DNA’d by my guess is that its probably a she.

mine always destroys till tape rolls, she loves to destroy her toys too. She has been a lot more active with her toys the last few weeks. Thank god I make them or I'd never be able to afford them and/or keep up. Wacky critter

They do that when they want to go somewhere. It isn't a hormonal thing. I have seen all our birds do this randomly regardless of their age or the season. They stop when they get where they want.
