I have a pair of timnehs and it seems like the female plucks the feathers off the male's head. she doesn't do it to herself but just the male. I was told that they do this to tell the male she wants to mate? any information on this and how to get this to stop? thanks in advance.

Do you have a bonded pair in the same cage? If so then there is not much you can do about it. Otherwise I would suggest you keep them each in their own cage.

I do have a bonded pair. Can I still separate them? how long will it take for his feathers to grow back if I separate them?
