Odd question

Ok, I just had this all typed out, but the stupid computer lost it. So I will type it again.

I have a kinda odd question. My GCC, Ziva, poops on my boyfriend, Brian all the time. She loves him, she will fly to him and sit with him. But she will also fly to him to poop, then leave. At first we thought it was a coincidence, but we can see it is intentional. We actually find it funny, so it isn't a problem. But we are wondering why. Like just now Ziva was playing on top of her cage. Then she stopped and flew onto Brian, she pooped then flew back onto her cage and continued to play. If he is not in the room she will poop where she is, but if he is there she will choose to poop on him. She rarely poops on me, however. Any ideas? Anyone else have a bird who does this?

I'm not sure but my bird has a favourite spot to poop.Maybe your boyfriend is her favourite spot LOL

Haha that is kind of funny! How do you react when she does it? Maybe because she has gotten a good reaction out of it (laughing etc) she believes she is doing the right thing hehehe

I don't think we really react much when it happens. I just hand him a paper towel. I don't know, just another strange thing the animals do.

I have some more info to add to this mystery. I had Ziva out earlier by myself. Brian came in, and Ziva flew to him like she normally does. Now, about five minutes before he came in she pooped. Not 30 seconds passed before she squeezed out a little tiny turd onto Brian, then flew back to her cage. Just a few minutes ago I handed her to him to say goodnight and she tried to poop on him again, but she was empty, having just pooped. She is a crazy little bird.

Did he praise her when she first started to poop somewhere? Trying to potty train her? If it is the case, I could understand why she would try to get his praise again by pooping on him? Not understanding that he praised her for pooping on a certain spot, not just pooping in general?

We never tried to potty train her. Maybe she likes the way he talks to her when she does it. He will call her names, but in a very loving, friendly voice he uses to 'reprimand' the animals with. I have a harder time training him to train the animals then I do training the animals. He is a bid softy with then and lets them get away with anything.

It seems to me like she is trying to get something from him, please him in some way, or do something that she thinks he likes. She may like his attention, loving voice when she poops on him and want to get it from him by repeating the behavior. Obviously she seems to like him so that's all I can come up with

LOL thats funny, maybe she is marking her territory LOL the poor boyfriend. I agree with echo. Since she is trying to poo on him he has to do something she believe he likes maybe its comical and she knows it?? I know my conure does stuff because he knows we will laugh at him thats how we got him to play basketball we laughed and made a big deal he will go and do it expect praise now.
