Pineapple & Sunshine--Gray/wildtype male cockatiels
Pineapple is by far one of the strangest cockatiels I've ever met. He's constantly making up new noises, new songs, and dances.

But today, he did something particularly cute (and very wierd!). It started with simple preening, and then he began to make some goofy noises. These were not new noises, they were the ones he normally makes when he's content. After that, he'd knock one time on my shoulder. Then, he started to spread his wings out wide. And then he'd continuously repeat this. The cycle went; preen, squeak, knock one time on my shoulder, and then he'd spread his wings. After I praised him, he started doing it in a faster pace.

I think he was showing off for mommy.

Aww, so cute. Maybe each time he does it, associate a word with it and use a treat, that way he'll do it everytime you want him too (plus you'll be able to get him on video for us all to see!)

Lol sounds like a courting display or something. I know my male ekkie taps his beak on the table/shoulder/hand before he regurgitates food for someone.

That is so cute, Pineapple is showing off for mommy.
It's great when you see how they "put" things together, and play around.
I personally think "he thinks he is the King" :jumping40

Hehe, that's cute! :D I swear sometimes they do things just to see our reactions!
