Hey everyone! It's nice to meet you all!

We recently moved to a dreaded open concept house. And by "open concept" I mean that it is literally one large room. In our previous house having people over was non-issue because I could put him in this ridiculously large laundry room we had if he needed a break. It was located right off of the kitchen, so he had a clear view of everyone so he still felt involved, but from a distance. In this house though, there's literally nowhere I can put him when he gets overstimulated. Ideally I'd put him in a bedroom, but then he'd undoubtedly be harassed by hoardes of kids(who use the bedrooms as a play area).

Where do you guys put your 'toos when you have people over?

We don't have an open concept house but sometimes Charlie gets super loud and crazy and screams a ton and we just don't feel like dealing with it, so we have been building a large outdoor aviary so that we can put him out there for a few hours a day to get all his energy out and to give us a break. :) hope that helps

Oh that's really cool! I'd love to see pictures once you're done building it :)

Interesting, not familiar with that type of home. It will be next to impossible to isolate your bird both visually and from sound. Perhaps you can buy a small portable room divider; I have one for different purposes that is nearly 6' tall, about 7' wide, with four hinged panels. Lightweight wood construction with fabric panels, weighs just a few pounds and provides visual cover for whatever is behind.
