Is this a good brand to feed my soon to be ekkie? I have heard that you have to give an eclectus a human food diet consisting of veggies fruit (80%) and pellets and seeds and treats (20%) so should i use this as it seems very good and even a bit tasty :D

And since this has been made to suit eclectus specifically could I use it as the main diet or maybe reduce the percentage like 60% fresh foods and 40% optibird for eclectus

OptiBird Complete Food for Eclectus

I don't like anything with soy or sugar... or processed. I would go with fresh fruit, veggies and some cooked whole grains instead.

Thanks for the reply. :D I was thinking a spoonful just to last the night maybe...

Last time I've given you the site to look at the list food and how to feed eclectus. But your still questioning it?

:DI was just wondering what to feed them during the night in case they were hungry. I cant really feed them fruit and veg in case they spoil. :43:

Oh and the website you pointed out was really helpful

oops the smiley face was supposed to go after the helpful part :o

During evening time I give a table spoon full of seeds that consists mainly the smaller seeds such as millets and such. But that table spoon full is shared between two ekkies. So cut down to half the amount to feed!

Thanks once again you've been so helpful :D

I don't leave any food in Oliver's cage at night because he sleeps during this time. In the morning he gets a wide variety of fresh fruit. When I leave for work I leave more fresh fruit and vegetables and then at night he gets a warm mush mix of grains and veggies and a tad bit of protein a few times during the week. I fink he's quite satisfied. As for seed, only a half tsp. a few times a week in his forager...
