I'm in the process of making Whisper a PVC play gym. To go on the play gym I made an orbit out of the blue tubing found in the plumbing department at Lowe's or Home Depot. Any ideas of what I can wrap around the blue tubing to keep it from being damaged by Whisper? I do plan on putting a toy in the middle of the orbit so I may not need it but any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

Pics will follow next week once the play gym is done. Almost there but I've promised my co-workers I would take it easy tonight and not work on it until Saturday. Yeah - right!

I wrapped mine with sisal rope, and it's holding up even to the big macs' beaks. :D

What size of sisal rope. Sorry to ask...but I guess I have to go shopping again. :D

I use 1/4" sisal (please make sure it's untreated/not rolled in oil). :) You can also use cotton, but with cotton you have to make sure they don't unravel it, as it can then become a hazard for getting their toes or other body parts tangled.

Here, I dug up some old photos. The first one was the first orb I made. That one was wrapped with a cotton/poly rope. The other two were later wrapped with the sisal.

Thanks so much for posting the pictures.
I have sisal rope but I think it's bigger than quarter inch.

Wendy is an *expert* orbit maker! She needs to sell her creations:D I'd follow her advice:)

I don't have much to contribute, but I'm super excited to see this new gym for Whisper! I bet it'll be a birdie amusement park once your done:D:D:D

As promised I didn't work on it last night.
I brought the information on the sisal rope that I had purchased into the office today so that I can enlarge the fine print so that I can read it. Ugh!

I ordered more things from MSBS yesterday and they should be at my house today so I've got more I can put on this play gym.

Due to technical troubles I won't be able to finish the play gym this weekend and I'm not sure when I will get to it. :(

Well that sucks:( Having trouble finding parts or trouble assembling?
