Paint???

Just want some advice please guys.
I managed to dig my old parrot play stand out of the shed.
It's still in good condition, apart from paint flaking on the metal part of the frame.
I want to tidy it up. Would using hammerite paint be safe to use?

I must admit, I've never heard of Hammerite before.
A quick google search shows they have a contact page.
You may wish to send them an email, state your intended use and ask about safety where pets that may chew on the paint are concerned.
Hopefully that will yield some beneficial results.

Well I sent them an email and they advised against using it.

What kind of stand is it? Is it powder coated? There are some places that can do powder coating and although it might be a little expensive, it definitely would last.
