i have a parakeet settled in ok now chirps away but he mainly just sits on his perch only moves to eat or drink
someone told me that he would be ok in with a male canary i dont know so im asking what you think please

I'm not sure what kind of Parakeet oyu have...but don't mix hookbills and softbills. Injury to the softbill is very likely. I have Budgies who were allowed playtime with my Canary, and the Canary ended up with a leg injury. He's fine now, but it was nasty. It happened twice, so now I don't allow them playtime together anymore....

yeah i agree with sharon, canarys are delicate little fids and don't really stick up for themselves. i keep my budgies seperate, better to be safe than sorry x
