Interesting lists! Don't know how much I support people who are not super knowledgeable basing their parrot decision off such a list, but it's a nice place to start your search. I hope the sites those kinds of lists are on also specify that each parrot is an individual. I see Kiwi is not suggested to live in an apartment on MrsKay's list. I'll have to let him know he will be sleeping in a birdhouse in the tree outside from now on;)

Yeah, so far, Iris is ridiculously quiet and doesn't talk (she used to but apparently not for a long time). Like weirdo quiet. And my budgie again? Obnoxious, as is my hen cockatiel.

So I guess, in general these might work, but doesn't really cover everything.

Kiwi definitely has a good set of lungs on him, and is capable (and on occasion does) scream loud enough to shatter your eardrums, but it's very rare he does. He's generally a nice, quiet boy who makes nice, pleasant sounds. Iris is older if I'm not mistaken (?) and sounds like she came from a good home. Older zons who have been sexually mature for a few years and have been treated well tend to mellow out A LOT and are just really good birds. It's when they're juveniles and those first few years after they hit puberty that they are the monsters you hear horror stories about:52:

This is actually a good point to really bring into focus how important such a list is to try to view in context. Many of the smaller birds can't physically produce noises you hear down the block, but they are noisy all the time even when they're well cared for. But with big birds, they tend to have noisy times in their lives and are capable of making VERY LOUD noises, but in a happy home don't scream very often and can be conditioned to make quieter vocalizations.

These are only a few. The first site I stumbled upon stated that they are the 'only website in the world' with such a chart.
Just try typing into search: 'Parrot Comparison Charts' and be prepared for 100,000.000 results. lol
I actually don't find them very helpful at all. I do not recommend these sites. Just thought it was interesting.

Interesting...I notice that the lifespans of most species is much shorter than the actual of healthy, well cared-for birds. Wondering if they got their data from inexperienced owners, or statistics from birds that were not well cared for, perhaps from several generations ago when people didn't know any better.

Kalidasa, when I was building my database & crosschecking things, I found that some of the original information had been plucked from publications/books as far back as the 40s and that when the "have your own website" craze hit, people just cut & pasted info to their site.....I also found that some sites, to keep from being accused of plagiarism, tried putting the information in their own words, but if you question their resources, you often don't get a reply, or maybe the resource they were relying on is no longer around, but I agree with you.....
