HI,
My beautiful orange winged amazon, is generally pretty well behaved, and doesn't often make a fuss, except when he hears noises like the dish washer, the kettle, really any form of loud noise coming from the kitchen? i have been raising my voice when this occurs and he will stop, but only briefly, but i have been recently informed that trying to correct him verbally is not effective as speaking up "be quiet" or "stop" means nothing to the bird, but i do fully understand. They only see any form of verbal action, as response to their screaming. I there any advice anyone can offer on actions i can take to get this under control. I am concerned about this only, because we are considering moving homes, and i would fear that neighbours may complain to me about this, and i do not want any problems. Also, he is in my living room, and other than that, or the kitchen (which is definitely not an option) it would not make sense to move the bird up stairs in the house as it would not get the attention it would with being in our main room of the house. So moving him is not an option.
Many thanks for any advice given!
